Lots of you are eager to know how wonderful, breathtaking, soulful, and spiritual my vacation to France was. Well, here you have it. We basically had 3 mini-vacations in one as we traveled to 3 different locations within the region.

This is a rough cut of my longed-for reunion with the beloved homeland, nested in the heart of the Alsace region {which i highly recommend to visitors who want to discover another side of France}. I felt transformed by the beauty of the land and i am not even talking about...the FOOD!

Then, the lively city of Strasbourg with its parks, bicycles and beautiful architecture

 

+ time for a little shopping, i found myself a classic hat...

 

We ended our trip with a triumphant hike through the French Vosges and the German Black Forest... magical.

Mmmmm... i am freshly back from my trip to Alsace, France and i have about 550 pictures to sort through in order to give you a good resume of the amazing places i saw while vacationning there. So for today, i am just going to give you a small eye candy to keep you satisfy before i fully return.

I can't remember where i sourced these pictures but this primitive stool/table really caught my attention.

Small, with character. I call it quiet charisma.

 

En attendant les images de mon voyage de retour au pays (plus de 550 à trier!), voici une petite parenthèse sur un objet que j'affectionne beaucoup dans la déco: Le tabouret. Je l'aime en général dans toutes ses formes et matériaux, surtout lorsqu'il peut servir également de table de chevet... Celui-ci est particulièrement un chouchou avec son coté primitif et robuste.

chapter 3 for ergo

 

They did it again; electro-acoustic Brooklyn band ERGO recording their 3rd album, with some sweet guests guitarists. An album to follow later this year... stay tuned!

Always a pleasure to hang out around musicians.

 

 

 

 

 

L'enrregistrement du 3ème album d'ERGO, c'était le mois dernier, et je m'y suis collée, encore une fois. C'est toujours une expérience fantastique d'être de la partie!

Un album qui suivra certainement à l'aube de l'automne 2011.

If i was to give advice to someone decorating a room, i would say: edit first and then start adding objects (with measure!) and art that truly represent what you love. Too many times, we keep things around on the shelf just because we think we can't part with them or we think they are part of us or something. 

I am myself tough to tame when it comes to collecting beautiful objects, i held myself back just yesterday wandering around the Brooklyn Flea. I would have bought a handful of things if the passionate side of my brain had dominated the rational one.

That said, i have found in this Etsy shop named The Oak Leaves perfect minimal ceramic designs creating stories without cluttering : they are miniature!

I just love the aesthetic of their product and shop and wanted to use them for my official Spring post;
