I am super thrilled {and kind of humbled} to have such a generous feature in this month's Japanese lifestyle magazine Lee. It was such a lovely afternoon and a nice surprise to get the magazine in person!

A good opportunity to thank all my readers way over there in Japan and overseas. You all rock.

It's time to pack up your sandals and summer gear, we are entering one of the most hectic month here: the month hosting New York fashion week.

Although i am not a fervent follower of trends or fashion in general, i often like the edge and cool-ness of some of the designer's styling. I particularily like these shots from the new Fernando Frisssoni's Fall catalog (i know this month's fashion week is not about fall's fashion, i know...).

As much as i hate to admit it, it's time to slowly welcome fall season, get back to our fast-paced working schedules and kiss goodbye lazy summer days.

 

 

 

 

 

La semaine de la mode se profile une fois de plus ici à New York et qu'est-ce que cela signifie? Rentrée et arrivée de l'automne... tout ce que j'appréhende en somme.

Mais pour la cause, voici une bien belle mise en scène du créateur Fernando Frissoni et de sa dernière collection. Même si la semaine de la mode ce mois-ci présentera déjà les look du printemps/été 2012, moi je boude et vous présente une collection d'automne. Là.

The basic nature of a photograph is that it is a small, fragile, tactile, finely detailed and intimate object ".

Un sujet interéssant extrait de ses nombreux articles: "La photographie, surtout le paysage, est trop souvent imprimé trop grand, privant la photo de son intimité, et donc certaines de ses illusion de la réalité. La nature fondamentale d'une photo, c'est qu'elle est petite, fragile, tactile, un objet finement détaillé et intime".

Suis subjuguée, et en quelque sorte convaincue.

There is a feature lacking in my apartment; it's a window in the bedroom. Technically, this is a good thing. To get a solid rest scientists say you are supposed to sleep in a well ventilated space ✓, away from loud noise ✓ and direct sun ✓. Not so bad.

But i needed to address the almost complete absence of daylight issue (it can easily be a little gloomy during daytime) by repainting the floors in a glossy shade of white.

White floors really helped brightening up the room. But for some reasons my bedroom still is {and will always be} at its prettiest at night under the yellow stream of my bedside lamp.

La chambre est l'endroit qu'il faut chouchouter. C'est là où l'on ouvre les yeux en premier le matin et où l'on pose le premier regard de la journée. Il est important de s'y sentir bien.

Chez moi, je n'ai pas de fenêtre dans la partie chambre. Un petit inconvénient (meme s'il est préférabe selon les experts de se réveiller au calme, loin de la lumière directe) auquel j'ai remedié en repeignant les sols d'une généreuse couche de blanc. Immédiatement, l'espace s'éclaircit! C'est tout simple.

Mais ma chambe, malgré tous mes efforts et ma pérsévérence, restera toujours au zénith de sa photogénie le soir, sous le halo artificiel de ma lampe de chevet. Et c'est très bien comme ça.

Really wanted to snatch this Dutch County straw hat from Steven Alan before it ran out of stock. Well, i guess i am too late.  *sigh*

 

Pour finir une tenue casual, le chapeau {de paille ou de feutre} est vraiment l'accessoire que je préfère.

J'avais celui-ci dans mon radar depuis un petit moment.

Malheureusement, Steven Alan est en rupture de stock.

Mais l'été continue!
